talent: Bodyguard
Clementine Foxglove is a bodyguard known for his dedication and bravery, using the self-defense skills he learned while living on the streets in his youth to help protect and defend the weak and vulnerable. Despite the kindness he gives to others, he has a past full of struggle and hardship that he is ashamed of. Before being kidnapped, he often expressed to mental health professionals that he feels guilty for feeling negative emotions as he knows he is lucky to have not suffered as much as other people have.
His brother died almost eight years ago and took away everything that Clementine had with him. They had a very close relationship before this point, and he is still deeply affected by it. It seems that his death caused him to fall into a depressive state, one that he has yet to leave. His life is now nothing beyond a long list of suicide attempts, with only a string of hospital stays to show for it.
His death caused Clementine's family to fall apart, as none of them could handle the loss. His father left them behind as well not long afterwards and has not been in contact with his family since. The trauma of losing her son and husband has caused his mother to become dazed and confused due to her grief, which led her to direct all the blame towards him. She has convinced him that everything that happened to their family is his fault. He seems to have internalised this, causing him to exhibit a lack of self-esteem and a firm belief that he doesn't deserve to live.
Currently, Clementine shares an apartment with his best friend and mentor, Leith Whitlock, in a bad part of town. They've both had a bit of a rough life, so it's nothing they're not used to but their jobs don't bring in an ideal income; most of it goes towards rent, food and bills. While it is not a particularly glamourous life, he probably wouldn't have accepted anything better for himself anyway. He doesn't think he deserves it.
His disappearance is likely to be noted almost immediately by his roommate or landlord, but few would care about his disappearance or try to look into it. That's why he was chosen, right? His life is worthless, expendable. No one's life would be worse with him gone.
